The Train Exchange began as a storefront for Northern Albertans to shop for new and pre-owned model railroading products and services. Owner/Manager, Grant Reierson is part of the Edmonton railroading scene and has been buying and selling products as a way to develop his own layout. He has been servicing locomotives along with installing DCC decoders and lighting for friends and fellow enthusiasts. The store is a way for Grant to share his enjoyment of the hobby and to encourage others to come along for the ride!
The name, 'The Train Exchange' represents the exchange of awesome pre-owned supplies but also a place to share ideas, techniques and services, making it a welcoming place for railroad enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
TTEX is the abbreviated version of 'The Train Exchange' which, as many model railroaders know, is symbolic of the reporting marks, or 'patch' stenciled on the side of railcars.
